I keep posting in reply to your article there:
Scripture says,
Mark 2:18-20
King James Version (KJV)
18 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?
19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.
And so we continue to fast during the Lenten season.
But it doesn’t seem to take.
The Catholic Saint Abbot John Cassian (also known as Cassianus, monk of Marseilles) in the fifth century admitted:
Notice that he admits that “the primitive church” did not keep Lent!
STEVE RAY HERE: NOTICE THE PRIMITIVE CHURCH ALSO DID NOT PRACTICE SOLA SCRIPTURA, FAITH ALONE, OR ANY OF THE OTHER MAINLY PROTESTANT DOCTRINES. ALL OF THOSE CAME INTO PLAY IN THE 15TH OR 16TH CENTURY. OF COURSE DOCTRINES AND PRACTICES DEVELOPED IN THE PRIMITIVE CHURCH, INCLUDING THE DETAILS LENT. SO WHAT IS YOUR POINT?
