Corpus Christi Sunday - Be Prepared for the Heresy
(have this printed out and ready to deliver to your homilist if he teaches this nonsense)

When Jesus fed the 5,000 he didn't really do a miracle, right? He just taught everyone to care and share, right? You've heard that homily, right? The people had all brought picnic baskets which they kept hidden up under their robes. Jesus convinced them all to pull out their picnic baskets to share with everyone else. The REAL miracle was not in multiplying loaves and fish, but in teaching people to share.

Isn't that sweet?  And after they all shared their food Jesus taught them to sing "Kum Ba Ya" and they all participated in a liturgical dance. A good time was had by all! Or so say some trendy homilists!

Well I had ENOUGH of that nonsense. I sat at Mass on Corpus Christi Sunday and heard the priest insult the intelligence of everyone in the church. He also insulted the Word of God and the tradition of the Church. He twisted the Gospel reading like a rubber nose and I almost stood up to protest. But my good wife said, "Steve, no! Go home and write!" So I did.

About 12 pages later I had written a very thorough response to the trendy priest and to all others who preach this nonsense. I sent a copy to the priest, to his bishop and to Catholic Answers. It was then published in the January 2008 issue of THIS ROCK Magazine. I hope this thorough rebuttal of nonsense will be copied and given to very homilist who insults us with such pablum. Hopefully we can put this insulting claptrap to bed once and for all.

Steve Interviewed by Soul Food Cinema

SoulFoodCinema.com interviewed me to talk about making and watching movies. I was asked a lot about the stories and adventures associated with filming our Footprints of God series.

Then they asked me what my favorite movies were and what I thought about film, cinema and TV today. You can view this excellent site related to cinema and my interview here.

Patty Bond’s Beeeautiful Revised Conversion Story

Patty is a clear thinker and a great writer. She shares her story with emotion, theology, charity and humor. This is a must-read conversion story from Baptist to Catholic and from the darkness of incestuous child abuse to her ascent “Out of the Darkness.”

Her story is very compelling and shows what healing and deliverance God can bring to a person who is open to God and the truth. She talks about her Baptist family, her brother James White, her stunning and amusing discovery of the Catholic Church and all the fallout that discovery has brought into her life — both painful and glorious.

You can read her lengthy story here (pdf file).  Enjoy and pass it along to others!

The Execution & Burial of St. Paul

-- video on location

Janet and I are still in Rome and today we took a taxi outside the city walls to pay our respects to the great Apostle to the Gentiles, the author of Scripture and martyr for the faith -- Saul of Tarsus, turned Paul the Apostle.

First we went to Tre Fontane where he was beheaded, then to St. Paul Outside the Walls where he is buried. I took my video camera along so you could join us. Hope this helps you better celebrate the Year of St. Paul. Enjoy!

Recent Comments on the Footprints of God

I know you are busy so you don't need to reply.  Just want you to know I loved your "Footprints of God" video.  I LOVED the music -- great music!  The camera work ... and the helicopter got some absolutely beautiful shots.  You showed some amazing things.  And it was wonderful seeing people in the market places, etc.  Loved all the filming of animals ... and the filming of that amazing tent when you described the tent maker.

A very well-thought-out plan for what you wanted to convey.  Great artwork used and you used a lot of it!  Every moment was chock-full of beautiful information.  Very high quality work from beginning to end!

Mr. Ray

My name is JC Guerrero.  I am assigned to the same unit as Greg Baxley Here in Baghdad.  I just wanted to take a moment of your time to tell
you how much I also appreciate the work you have done with your DVDs.  We have really had a great time watching them and learning from them.

I have been a Catholic all my life but after watching your videos, for
the first time, I have really been able to picture in my mind what is really going on in the scripture readings.  For example, the readings from St Paul now have more meaning to me -- I can picture better in mind where all of the readings are taking place, what was going on at the time, etc.

Also, your videos have given me even more ammunition in explaining the basis for the Catholic faith.  This day and age, that is terribly important--as you know, our society and the new generations in our society are becoming harder to convince of anything.

Lastly, I have been looking for a better way to teach the faith to my
two young boys -- 8 and 6. I am going to use some of the money I saved in taxes being over     here to pay for all of the DVDs and use them as fun, educational tools for my boys (and my wife).  I have watched several of the DVDs more than once -- each time I watch them, I learn something new.

Bottom line:  thank you for doing such a great job and putting so much love and enthusiasm into your work.  It is reaping benefits all the way over here. God Bless you, Mr. Ray.

    Respectfully,
    JC Guerrero
