My Almost PhD Son-in-Law

by Steve Ray on December 10, 2006

BrownFamily sm.jpgMy daughter Cindy married a great man. I couldn't have asked for a better one. They have two boys (and they live with us for now, at our request) and a baby girl due in four weeks — our 6th grandchild.

On Monday my son-in-law Ben Brown will be defending his PhD dissertation at Catholic University of America in Washington DC. He has worked on this for 3 years and if he is successful tomorrow — he will have his PhD in Theology. Please pray that he will be brilliant while in front of all the professors. Thanks.

In the meantime, while homeschooling the boys, preparing to give birth and running my webstores, my daughter Cindy is writing her dissertation to be a PhD in Philosophy. Geez I'm proud!

The Watchmaker — Wow!

by Steve Ray on December 10, 2006

Watch.jpgThis has to be the best little video I've ever seen. Philosophy, history, biology, and more wrapped into one beautiful story. Pass this one along to friends and family, especially your kids. Turn up your volume, click here and sit back and enjoy.

"The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words; Their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their utterances to the end of the world. In them He has placed a tent for the sun," (Psalm 19:1-4).
