Another Minister Converts to the Catholic Church

by Steve Ray on March 6, 2008

allen_hunt.jpgWe welcome Allen Hunt into the Catholic Church. Allen Hunt was the senior pastor of Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church near Atlanta, Georgia, the third largest Methodist congregation in the world. Allen earned his Ph.D. from Yale and also serves as host of the Allen Hunt Show, broadcast on one of Atlanta’s most influential secular talk radio stations.

He mentions at least two things that brought him to the Church: 1) the deep divisions within Christianity which give a poor witness to the world, and 2) the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. His conversion has been a low-key one and he has only made a few statements. On his blog, you can read his simple announcement here.

At this rate, Marcus Grodi's "The Journey Home" will have to expand to five nights a week Smile
