For Homeschoolers Only!

by Steve Ray on October 6, 2008

We starting homeschooling our kids in the early 80′s when it was still illegal in Michigan. We moved to the country, bought an old farm house and laid low. We could have had our kids taken away but we fought the fight and they turned out all right!

Now homeschooling is as popular as frappuccinos and double cheese pizzas.

In the first week of college the professor gave my daughter Cindy and A+ on her paper and wrote “Whoever taught you to write knew what they were doing.” Ah, such sweet vindication!

We thought that current homeschoolers would enjoy these two fun videos. We also have some links that might be helpful for homeschoolers here.

Homeschool Homies

A Homeschool Adams Family

I found out about these videos at the Maureen Wittmann Blogspot – worth a view for families, homeschoolers and fun people.

As a current homeschooler in a town full of homeschoolers (Austin, TX), I wanted to say Thank You to you and the many with you who did pave the way for us. We thank the Good Lord everyday that we have this opportunity to educate and be with our kids all day and pray we will always have that right. Thanks again!

That Home School Family (Adams Family) video was fun. :) Thanks for posting that.

My wife and I are about to have our second child. We’re planning to home school. We’ve been hearing bits and pieces lately of certain politicians whom may wish to ‘outlaw’ home schooling. I know there was some buzz not to long ago about California in particular.

Reality is, from what we’ve seen most home schooled kids outperform their public schooled counter parts. And besides, I’d rather my children learn at their own pace, rather than being slowed down by disruptive and inattentive students in their classes. Not to mention being able to teach our children about God without the school board intervening!!
