Wanna Study the Bible?

by Steve Ray on October 21, 2008

Recently E-priest presented an article on how parishes can set up a great Catholic Bible Study. I write the studies for www.CatholicScriptureStudy.com. I have written Acts and Genesis and I’m now working on 1 and 2 Corinthians.

E-priest gives excellent advice on how to start a study in your home, your group, or your parish. It is as easy as can be. Gail Buckly, the founder of CSS, says it comes in a box –  you just add water!

Check out the article by E-priest entitled “High Level Scripture Study for Hungry Souls.” Then visit my site on Bible Study and then go to the CSS site and find a local study near you — or get one started!

I have just started a blog called The Scriptural Catholic, A Liturgical Calendar Bible Study. It is a “read the bible in a year” idea. Instead of starting on Jan. 1 and reading through page 1 to page ???, this study follows the seasons, Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter and Ordinary Times. AND IT STARTS NOVEMBER 28!!!!! Get some colored pencils and see how much of Scripture is read yearly in the Catholic Church. Not just read but trust that Scripture will be read and highlight it. And then internalize it, pray with it.
