Obama’s Legislation:

FOCA: sweeping pro-abortion legislation, favored by Obama, likely to stall in Congress

American pro-life leaders have warned that the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) is the most radical pro-abortion legislation ever proposed in Washington. Speaking to a Planned Parenthood audience during his presidential campaign, Barack Obama promised to sign FOCA as soon as he took office. But the president-elect does not have that option. FOCA has not yet been introduced in Congress, and knowledgeable pro-life veterans on Capitol Hill say that the bill has slim prospects for passage, particularly in the Senate.

Bush’s Final Act (Bravo President Bush!)

In one of his last official acts before stepping down as US President, George W. Bush has proclaimed Sunday, January 18, as “National Sanctity of Human Life Day” for 2009. “The most basic duty of government is to protect the life of the innocent,” his proclamation notes. The designated day falls four days before the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, and two days before the Inauguration of president-elect Barak Obama.

Steve, I sure hope you are right about FOCA stalling out…I know I will have plenty to answer for at my own judgement, I just wonder about the many who may end up in the “goat” line at their judgement if this passes. “Whatsoever you have done for the least of my brethren, you have done also to me.” God help us all and Mother Mary please pray for us.
