How Big is God?

by Steve Ray on March 15, 2009

He is quite amazingly big, if you can say He actually has a size. Yesterday the grandkids and I turned over a log to find a nest of red ants. We thought about how big we were to the ants. The ants must be saying, “Oh no, giants just picked up our city!” Reminds me of old Twilight Zone episodes.

SunEarth.jpgBut we cannot put a size limit on a Being that is pure spirit. How big is God? Well, maybe let’s ask how great and powerful and creative and immense He is. Compare you to the size of the earth, and the size of the earth to the sun, and the size of the sun to the next largest star and then . . .

Click here to see how small we are and why we should be very amazed that a God who can create all this, still loves us enough to send His Son to die for us and His Holy Spirit to indwell us. It is really quite amazing.

Ray,
Thanks for the comparison. It’s amazing, huh? But what is truly amazing beyond our comprehension is the fact that the God who made these things went down from His throne to be with us earhlings, to dwell, to be subject to our physical limitations of pain, hunger etc and finally to die for us.

We know the theology and principles behind it through Catholic teachings but, the big BUT, I could not even to this very day digest that kind of love! truly AWESOME!

God Bless, Ray for coming home to His church!

Hello, Ray! God is BIG indeed! It is mind-boggling!

We want to congratulate you on the fantastic work you do. We love watching your program on EWTN. It seems so very short, though…before we know it, it is over. You do such a magnificent job of portraying history and holy places, that we are always left wanting to watch more and looking forward to your next program. You make us feel the joy and intensity you yourself are experiencing walking these holy places. God bless you!

Thank you for your great work, Steve. And thank you, Lord, for Steve.

The universe is grand and amazing! Even more amazing: the Architect of this great universe is waiting for us down the street from our house, in the tabernacle in church. And He comes to make His Home in our hearts at Communion. Amazing!

God bless,
Dan
