Terrible Two’s

by Steve Ray on January 22, 2010

“I am not so shocked that Obama was given the Nobel Peace Prize without any accomplishments to his name, because America gave him the White House based on the same credentials.”  (Newt Gingrich)

Now that Obama’s past the first year, can we expect the terrible two’s?

From walking on water to the backstroke — fleeing sharks. Obama’s worst week in office.

I fear that we will see the terrible twos should the feeling that elected Scott Brown to the Senate persist into November with a continuied repudiation of liberal democrat progressivism.

Liberal progressives are still in basic denial that the country is NOT liberal. True, people were sick and tired of the country club Republicans and neo-cons (RINOs by any other name), and so voted against McCain as a repudiation of Bush (whom by the why I personally admire and love – I don’t believe in following a herd of swine off the cliff, as it were). But Obama mistook that as a mandate for socialism.

No matter what happens, however, I think we will find Obama becoming more and more ruthless. His ego cannot withstand defeat. The saying about a pickup truck beating Air Force one still bothers him and he ridicules it publicly whenever he gets the chance. What he doesn’t realize is that the country would rather a man like Scott Brown have Ar Force instead of him. Perhaps now the public is awakening to the Law of Unintended Consequences: a vote against McCain was a vote for socialism.

BTW, I wasn’t thrilled with McCain either, and maybe his defeat was for the best if only to show the country the true ramifications of liberal democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic as I constantly remind the progressives, NOT a national democracy. Indeed, democracy is but two wolves and one sheep voting on what’s for dinner and in this case it’s unborn babies.
