Where Do You Find that in the Bible?

by Steve Ray on October 19, 2010

Protestants often accuse Catholics of making up doctrines or tradition. They often press their point by asking “Where do you find that in the Bible?”

A good answer, of course, is to respond, “Where do you find in the Bible, that you have to find everything in the Bible?”

The idea that everything has to be found in the Bible is itself an unbiblical tradition! It is found no where in the Bible.

Thanks Steve for all your wonderful posts lately. My husband and I are coming up on 5 years as converts from the Baptist faith. Your writings are a great help to us in our conversations with family and just let us know that we indeed converted to the One True Church that Christ founded. We recently had a conversation with my baptist FIL about infant baptism. Of course he firmly stated that one should “be of age” to be baptized. And we said to him , “Where did you find that in the Bible?????”
