I have to wonder if the increase in Catholic Church memberships in the US might not be due to illegal Hispanic immigration (and that makes me wonder why the Church in the US doesn’t support similar illegal immigration for Christian Iraqis or Nigerians). Membership increase sure ain’t due to door-to-door witnessing. Indeed, there are virtually no evangelization efforts in the Catholic Church even remotely similar to what the LDS Church or Jehovah Witnesses or the Assemblies of God do. And I hate classifying the Assemblies of God in with those two heretical groups.
I think it was Patrick Coffin of Catholic Answers who said that about 47% of those who pass through RCIA leave the Church in a few years.
sadly, I’m not sure our % increase is equal or greater to overall population increase %, therefore more and more people are faithless.
