However … there is a photograph of these sisters who gleefully pose with New Ager Oprah Winfrey who denied Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life (John14:6).

The photo is published on the AnnArbor.com website at : http://www.annarbor.com/assets_c/2010/11/nuns_2-thumb-590×393-62189.jpg

The above are startling true facts. I am sure you can approve this post – for the sake of truth.

God bless you.

John:
They were there to evangelize not to condone Oprah’s stupidity. We are all to talk to non-believers to evangelize. Good grief!

I’m so proud of the Sisters. It debunks the myth that Catholics don’t know their scripture. I’m especially impressed with the honesty displayed when Sister Evangeline repeated the spoon task voluntarily. Now, we just need to bring on a team of Catholic men headed by our own Steve Ray! (As I watched the second show, I was also quite intrigue when St. Peter’s name was correctly interpreted as Rock instead of “small stone” or “pebble” as is commonly done in bias in the Protestant world.)

@John

I am pretty sure the scribes and Pharisees have also criticised Jesus for dining with the tax collectors / sinners. And we know that this is not because Jesus is condoning these sinners.

If will be given the chance, I am pretty sure the sisters will be very happy to proclaim the Gospel to Oprah.

God bless”

P.S. let us not be like the Pharisees who are just to quick to judge because they think they are so holy. But Jesus said that they are full of hypocrisies.

That photo is linked to the article where the sisters were invited by Oprah. The sisters accepted the invitation. While the article does mention of the intention of sharing the Gospel to Oprah as an opportunity since the Oprah TV shows are hugely successful, the real intention is not to proclaim the gospel. No gospel was actually shared, but only “what” chores a nun goes through religious vocation.

There is a old english adage that says – “A picture is worth more than a 1000 words” .. so from the photo one can with discernment see that there is actually “false ecumenical” spirit that is providing the bonding of camaraderie – we are one?

Actually, when Oprah did a story on the Sisters, they did preach the Gospel and witnessed about their chastity in a very loving way. Oprah, like a lot of “worldly” people, didn’t really know what to think, and neither did her production team that went to shoot a segment there. It was clear that they were attracted by the life and the straightforwardness of the Sisters, but were worried by the idea of not having sex. (Oprah got all challengey about it, and the Sisters gave her back good answers.)

The Dominican sisters are teachers, and it’s entirely appropriate for them to engage in a gameshow that’s about Biblical education. Just by showing up and being themselves, they showed the viewers that they don’t have to fear nuns, that Catholics do value and know the Bible, and that they are a painfully honest crew. All this was good witness for Christ, and a good lesson for folks who’ve never seen real nuns before; and that’s part of their job. If they win and make some money to take care of their elderly nuns, that’s even better.
