Be careful with that comic. It leads to the conclusion that no-one quite has it right, and perhaps some of the early heresies are just as valid as modern Christianity.

A better diagram would be a tree with the width denoting the relative # of people and distance between branches denoting differences between doctrines.

That would be a lot more funny. A tiny twig judging that the rest of the tree is in error.

lol, ok good comic, I think it’s ridiculous that “Anil Wang” is correcting the humor for it.

Jada, humour makes for wonderful apologetics. You can often say things convincingly with humour that you’d never be able to with reams and reams of arguments.

The above humour (which I’ve seen several times before in different versions) makes a good point to doubt that after 2000 years we’ve finally gotten it right and everyone else is wrong. The problem is, in this day and age of Bart Erhmans and moral relativists, the diagram works equally well against Catholics being “arrogant” enough not to see that they are “just one of the branches”. Anyone wishing to use the comic to show the error of Protestantism might be surprised that it inspires relativism and agnosticism instead.

Hi Anil, I think you missed the point. The point is, that’s how Protestants view it. They do believe that the Catholic Church is just the root which became corrupt and died.

The comic you suggest would be a reflection of true history, but not a reflection of the error they believe.

Hi Steve, I was going to ask if you drew that, but I saw the signature at the top of the drawing. It’s awesome how some people can make stick figures look so cool. My stick figures look like, well, stick figures.
