Fun Stuff

Today I ran-walked around Ave Maria Town in Florida (surgery on my knee Wednesday and then no run-walk, just run!). I spoke on Mary twice yesterday at the university conference on Mary. There were about 300 people attending which was not bad since it was their first every Marian Conference and had very little prep [...]

It was a beautiful Sabbath. No traffic. Jews, Muslims, Christians all out walking. Children everywhere. I walked briskly (until my knee surgery later this month) for 9 miles from north to south. I followed the light rail train track through the city. I started at Notre Dame near the Old City and the Tomb of [...]

Funny Calls from Catholic Answers Live Callers

by Steve Ray on May 11, 2012

From Tim Staples of Catholic Answers Live: About 13 years ago, when Catholic Answers first started in radio, our first host was Johnny Hochgraefe. He decided to start a listener comment line for folks who could not get on the air or who just wanted to make a comment. This is a best of that [...]

I have two things here to inform, entertain and instruct. Many Americans think it is unsafe and dangerous to come to the Holy Land. However, 3.5 million people are walking the streets, praying at holy sites and following the footprints of Jesus and his Mother. In the first you will hear the testimony of pilgrims [...]

My grandpa is a nice old gentleman, with gray hair, and gold spectacles, and very fond of his little grandson Billy—that’s me. Grandpa and I often go out to walk together, that is, on fine days, because on cloudy days he never goes out of the house, but stays at home to keep “comfortable with [...]

Walking with Jesus East of the Sea of Galilee

by Steve Ray on May 2, 2012

Today I took off for 8.7 miles along the eastern coast of the Sea of Galilee. I have only a few segments left to complete my run around the whole sea. However, since I have a torn meniscus in my knee (operation on May 23) I had to refrain from running on this segment and [...]

My Run-Walk Around the Walls of Jerusalem

by Steve Ray on May 1, 2012

My goal is to run between 1,000 to 1,200 miles a year. As my wife and I get older we consider it our “medicine.” Today I am right on track even though I have a torn meniscus in my knee. I have an appointment on May 23 (when I return from Israel) to get orthopedic [...]

Everyone is thrilled and doing great. I put up my exercise route here with pictures, videos and a map along the shore of [...]

Wedding in Nazareth (almost Cana)

by Steve Ray on April 23, 2012

Our friend Nael Malouf got married on Sunday in Nazareth. We were happy to join the festivities. Traditions are still much like biblical, ancient times. This is a very traditional Palestinian Christian wedding (Catholic). Enjoy the short video HERE.

My Grandaughter, Maria Faustina (and my grandson Damian Augustine) both had their first communion on Easter. Maria had been practicing this first communion song and taught it to her 2 year old sister Arabella. This was a spontaneous performance during kitchen cleanup. Enjoy. Two Cool Timelines for Holy Week

by Steve Ray on April 5, 2012

There are a lot of things that happened in Holy Week. Do you know what was done when?, Where Jesus was each day? What the sequence of events were? These are great tools to accompany you through Holy Week and beyond. Print them out and put them on your refrigerator. Talk about it over dinner [...]

I only had 35 minutes but we discussed a lot: Atheism, Catholicism, Morality and Marriage, Sex and why would girls want to be reduced to boy-toys. It was a great time at St. Mary’s Ryken Catholic High School.

Well, not actually Mary, but girls from Nazareth from over 100 years ago. These are actually Nazarean girls getting water from the same well where Mary got water every day 2,000 years ago. To see the pictures of the well, the cave of the Annunciation and the altar that says, “The Word Became Flesh Here!” [...]
