This is graphic and sick but is further proof that Islam is at heart an evil religion. Notice the cell phones taking pictures of the stoning!

This is a very graphic and disgusting film, a horror, of the execution by stoning of a young Muslim girl by her own Muslim community. She had refused to marry the old man her father had picked for her husband.

She was taken to court and sentenced to death by stoning under Shari Law. This is a common occurrence in most Muslim countries.

Our press very rarely reports it. Why would that be? Where are the feminists, the human rights people, the U.N.? Why doesn’t anyone in the administration including our president, say or do something? Probably because he is so busy expressing his admiration for the “peace loving” Muslims and promoting a Mosque at Ground Zero.

Oh, you might say, “why the over-reaction? This is in some backwater area of Iraq.” Really? It is an ever increasing occurrence in the USA too, and other Western countries. One happened in London while we were there but the killers got the wrong address and killed a whole family by mistake!

India: Muslim vigilantes punish professor for ‘blasphemy’ by severing his arm

Muslim extremists abducted a professor who had been accused of insulting Muhammad and cut off his arm in India’s southern Kerela state. . . .

Americans think they know so much. But they don’t usually know what it is like in the rest of the world — the real world.

I am in Australia right now where Muslims are growing in numbers and clout. There are a lot of questions asked of me about Islam as I speak throughout this country. It is the same when I go to other countries as well. I have learned a lot myself while in the Middle East, Turkey, the Philippines and other countries around the world.

It would be instructive to listen to this Archbishop from a predominantly Muslim country — Syria, which I have visited myself several times. And remember that he is being careful what he says, due to the real world circumstances. If you are wise, you can read between the lines.

I have not spoken with Archbishop Nassar, though I have spoken with many other bishops, priests and lay Christians in predominantly Muslim countries. In public they speak carefully; in private they are often more forthcoming.

“Question: The other problem is that in the Islamic faith, if a young lady wants to marry a young Muslim fellow, she must convert?

Archbishop Nassar: Yes, this is a problem and if a Christian man wants to marry a Muslim girl he too has to convert. This is a very old law and we cannot change it. Nobody obliges this man to marry a Muslim girl, but when 95% of the girls are Muslim and 5% are Christians, there are more choices on the 95% side, so when he marries we too lose our people this way.

Question: What about the question of conversion?  Do you have Muslims coming to the Maronite Catholic Churches interested in converting? How would you respond to this issue of conversion, because in Islam conversion is punishable by death?

Archbishop Nassar: That is fanaticism, but many Muslims come to our Church; they learn the catechism, they follow our meetings but they can’t be baptized. They can be Christian if they want in their hearts but they cannot show it.

Question: So they are secret … hidden Christians?

Archbishop Nassar: They cannot show it, but we do receive them with open hearts and some of them come to daily Mass, to the Bible studies and catechism. They come but they have to stay, outwardly, Muslim.

Islam’s Enemy #1 with a price on his head …

You may enjoy (probably the wrong word :-) reading this article by Susan Brinkmann, OCDS, Staff Journalist. She describes the incredible demand that muslims want to share the Cathedral in Cordoba Spain. Following is the first two paragraphs of the article. My comments and article follow them.

“Muslim rights groups in Cordoba, Spain are pressuring the local bishop for a “joint use” agreement that will entitle them to share usage of the Cordoba Cathedral in order to alleviate the need among the growing Muslim immigrant population in that country for worship space.

“Spero News is reporting that the conflict in Cordoba began during Holy Week in April when a group of Muslims attempted to force their way into the Cathedral, injuring two people.” For the full article click here.

It is amazing that the Muslims want to share churches — actually demand it — yet do you think they would ever let us infidels use their mosque? Don’t kid yourself. In fact, every where I’ve been in the MIddle East you will find they want to build their mosques right in front of a church and to make the mosque bigger so it blocks and overshadows the church. This is especially true in Nazareth but the mosque was stopped before it was built only because the Pope made a plea against it and Israel responded.

Islam is totally uncompromising and exclusive and intolerant. They may seem tolerant when they are a minority and just establishing themselves, like in the USA, but just wait until they get numbers enough to push their weight around. They have a world-wide agenda and they are brilliant in executing it.

Yesterday I went to Olive Garden for dinner with my wife. A World War II vet sat at the table next to us proudly wearing his hat from the war. I spent a long time talking with him and thanking him for his service to our country. On the way out an employee of Olive Garden greeted us as we left, holding the door. She was a Muslim in full garb, with robe and hajib on her head.

Such a scarf is an outward sign of their devotion to Mohammed and the agenda of Islam. I marveled at the irony of the World War II vet who had fought for our country juxtaposed against the Muslim at the door representing another war which is already well under way in the form of Islam — but most Americans are stupidly unaware of it.

I am writing to Olive Garden to let them know it is not in their best interest to have a Muslim in full garb greeting their guests. Am I intolerant? No, just realistic.

30 Churches Threatened in Indonesia in Past Year

Thirty Christian churches in the world’s largest Muslim nation have been burned down, attacked, or threatened with being closed by authorities, according to Theophilus Bela, the Catholic president of the Jakarta Christian Communication Forum. In the city of Bogor in West Java, thousands of Catholics have been prohibited from attending Mass at their parish on Christmas, Easter, and Ascension Thursday; instead, Mass has been held at the city hall. . . .

Bishop’s accused killer shouted Islamic phrase

The man charged with killing Bishop Luigi Padovese in Turkey reportedly shouted “Allah Akbar!” after repeating stabbing the prelate, and boasted of having killed “the great Satan.” . . .

Christians now outnumber Muslims in sub-Saharan Africa by 2 to 1

A study published on April 15 by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life has found that the number of Christians in sub-Saharan Africa grew from seven million in 1900 to 470 million today. During the same time period, the number of Muslims grew from 11 million to 234 million.

US ordination class of 2010: 31% foreign-born; 10% are converts

A survey of US seminarians who will be ordained this year has found that 31% were born outside the United States, with most coming from Mexico, Colombia, the Philippines, Poland and Vietnam.

Because they know there is a gun pointed at their head. This story is typical. Egypt is considered a moderate Muslim Arab country but it is still a capital offense to convert to Christianity. The only way to be a Christian is to be a visitor or born a Christian. I’ve talked with Muslims in Egypt about this a number of times and they think it is the proper way to keep their country Muslim.

In response, the court asked al-Gohari to provide a conversion certificate, which the Coptic Orthodox Church has issued for the first time. Al-Gohari said last year that since his conversion became public, his younger brother has wanted to kill him: “he’s been waiting for me outside my building with a gun.”

In a brutal display of Islamic extremism, a Pakistani Christian who refused to renounce his faith was set on fire by Muslim militants. When police arrived on the scene, rather than helping the man, they raped his wife while the couple’s children watched the atrocities.”

The only thing I would disagree with is the word “extremism.” This is the ripe fruit of Islam, following in the footsteps of their prophet, and dealing with infidels the way the Quran teaches.

A Christian girl from the eastern Pakistani city of Sheikhupura was enslaved by a Muslim police officer and burned alive. “The girl had been enslaved by a woman, Sama, a ‘dealer’ of youth sold as prostitutes or slaves to wealthy Muslim families,” according to Fides, the news agency of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples. “Once she convinced Kiran’s mother (with false promises and illusions) to take her, Kiran was forced to file a complaint against her own parents (for non-existent violence), threatening that otherwise they would be killed.”

Bangladesh: 50 Christians injured in Muslim attacks

Armed with knives, bricks, and sticks, a group of Muslims attacked Christian villagers in Bangladesh on March 20, injuring 50.

Muslims slaughter hundreds of Christians in Nigeria

Muslim gangs attacked three villages in central Nigeria and killed up to 400 Christians in pre-dawn attacks on March 7. “The shooting was just meant to bring people from their houses, and then when people came out they started cutting them with machetes,” said one witness.

Another added, “We saw mainly those who are helpless, like small children and then the older men, who cannot run, these were the ones that were slaughtered.”

1,000 Christian families fled Mosul in 10-day period

[Muslim] Violence against Christians in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul — the modern name for ancient Nineveh — has led over 1,000 Christian families to flee in the past ten days, Syrian Catholic Archbishop Basile Georges Casmoussa said on March 5.

Wake up America!

I wrote this about two years ago while in Adana Turkey and thought it worthy to post again.

Europe is full of magnificent churches—Gothic, Baroque and even modern. Their steeples and crosses still dominate much of the skyline. They stand as impressive monuments to the Christian faith that built the free world and brought beauty and justice out of a pagan, barbarian wilderness.

Today the churches in Europe are becoming museum pieces recalling the lost faith and  collapsing backbone of Europe. (Paris’ Notre Dame Cathedral to left)

Paganism is on the rise – and along with it something just as alarming. The skyline will soon change, not only for Europe but for the whole Western World, including the United States. You will soon see new structures piercing the sky!

But before I tell you how your view of today’s horizon will change, let me tell you about what happened to Turkey. Then you will see that it can happen—and if we don’t move quickly, it will happen again.

Janet and I are now in Turkey with our Skyline Productions video crew working on our next documentary Apostolic Fathers for the Footprints of God series. We are driving/flying with our crew from one Christian site to another. This country is often called the Second Holy Land—why? Because it contains more Christian sites than anywhere other than Israel.

For a few examples: Antioch is where we were first called Christians, Tarsus was the home town of St. Paul, and Lystra the home city of St. Timothy.

But, Turkey is also home to the Seven Church of Revelation. The Blessed Virgin Mary lived here with the Apostle St. John. Selçuk still boasts the tomb of St. John (see picture to right). Istanbul (Constantinople) was once a proud patriarchate of the Catholic Church and home to Ecumenical Councils.

Actually, the first Seven Ecumenical Councils were held here, including Constantinople, Chalcedon, and Nicea—from which we got Nicene Creed recited each Sunday. And don’t forget the Council of Ephesus which defined Mary as the Theotokos, the Mother of God.

And if you remember your New Testament, you will recognize cities that were in today’s Turkey: Galatians, Ephesians and Colossians. Turkey is also the land of martyrs, Fathers and Doctors of the Church like Sts. Ignatius of Antioch, Polycarp, Irenaeus, Gregory of Nyssa, Gregory of Nazianzus, John Chrysostom, and Basil the Great to name just a few.

So, when I look out over the horizon from my hotel room window, do I see the beautiful churches that once marked the skyline of Asia Minor (modern day Turkey)?

Nope. Sorry. I see something else.

From my window just now, I counted no less than nineteen minarets! What are minarets? They are the tall slender towers above an Islamic mosque from which the muezzin calls the faithful to prayer (Notice two pictures from my hotel window–one wide shot with no less than five minarets; the second at the bottom of this blog showing a large mosque across the river. There is only one Catholic Church within a hundred miles of where I am now).

What happened to the churches? Let’s go to Istanbul together and I will show you! I have frequently visited the Hagia Sophia—the Church of Holy Wisdom. It was the glory of Christendom and for over a thousand years it had the largest dome — until St. Peter’s was built in Rome. Many people thought the dome stayed up by a direct miracle of God. How else could something so expansive stay up without crashing down?

But when the Muslims conquered Contantinople they defaced the church, painted over the golden icons of our Blessed Mother and turned the spectacular church into a mosque. The crosses came down and the minarets went up.

It has been predicted that within fifty years Europe’s skyline will change. It will become a Muslim empire. Steeples will come down and minarets will go up. No longer will you hear bells – you will hear muezzin wailing from the balconies of slender minarets.

And America? We are losing our faith too, and our backbone. Will we be far behind Europe? I don’t think so. Islam has 1 billion followers, many of who will stop at nothing short of world domination. They won’t call it that, of course. They will say the world is now as Allah willed it.

And like the Hagia Sophia—your church, and the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC and St. Patrick’s in New York will still pierce the skyline, but no longer as steeples. They will sport the latest in minarets. And our grandchildren’s’ children will wonder why we caved in so easily—why we lost our faith and our backbone.

Oh, so you don’t believe it can happen to us? Neither did the Byzantine Empire, the powerhouse of Christianity in the East! But, the East fell to Islam and the West may fall as well. Maybe not by military might, but by religious indifference, population control, and secularism. Islam can overtake us by persistence, population growth, and religious fervor.

What was once part of a powerful Christian Empire is now 99% Muslim. Out of a population of about 75 million, there are only 60,000 Christians (Catholic, Orthodox, Protestants, etc.). The past screams to us but will we listen.

Prepare to see the new skyline; prepare to be awakened at 4 AM with the wail of the muezzin.

St. Ignatius, pray for us. Sts. Polycarp, Irenaeus and John Chysostom, pray for us!

Read the two articles below and realize this is not just an Iraqi or Pakistani phenomenon. Islam acts the same in any country in which is has the opportunity, the freedom or the majority. Wake up America! Wake up Europe! Wake up Catholic Church! Wake up world!

Organized violence driving Iraqi Christians out of Mosul

In Mosul, Iraq, two Christian merchants have been killed this week, one wounded, and a fourth taken hostage by kidnappers demanding a heavy ransom. The violence against the Christian minority, carried out by organized armed gangs, continues unabated. Iraqi Christians have complained repeatedly about the failure of police to respond to the campaign of violence and intimidation. The attacks are having the desired effect: driving more and more Christians out of Mosul.

Pakistan: Muslims burn down Catholic home, police ignore incident

Three Muslim brothers in the eastern Pakistani village of Shadokey burned down the house of a Catholic family after Walayat Masih, the father of the family, refused to sell them the home. The Muslim brothers demanded that Masih and his family “convert to Islam.” Instead of investigating the incident, local police threatened the family as well.

Not to long ago I was shopping with my wife. A Muslim woman was in front of us in line and arguing with the cashier. I knew she was Muslim because of the hijab around her head. I waited patiently. The cashier said, “The store says only one per customer.” The woman argued, “I want 21 so give them to me!” The cashier repeated, “I don’t make the rules, I just have to abide by them. The store says the sale is only one per customer.”

The Muslim woman started yelling at the clerk. She went on and on. Finally I said, “Lady, just follow the rules!” She turned on me like a viper and said, “It is none of your business.” I said, “Yes it is because I am stuck here waiting for you since you don’t want to follow the simple rules of the store.”

She said, “F**k you!” I was surprised and so was everyone else standing around. So I said loudly, “Oh, is this what Mohammed teaches you? Is this what we learn from Islam?”

She quickly bought her one item and exited the store. Now I am not inclined to confront people like this for no reason, but Americans have become so cowardly and politically correct that we fear ever saying what we think. We cower in fear that a Muslim or a rude person, or potty mouth might not like us or might yell at us.

Well, the heck with that. I gave up political correctness long ago. I despise the cowardice and stupidity of political correctness and letting wrongheaded ideas and bullies rule the world. We should not insult people, we should respect people, we should love people, but we should also be honest and live in the real world.

All it takes for evil to conquer is for a few good men and women to say and do nothing.

Czech cardinal warns: Muslims are conquering Europe

Cardinal Miloslav Vlk, who has served as Archbishop of Prague since 1991, has warned in an interview that “if Europe doesn’t change its relation to its own roots, it will be Islamized.”

Swiss vote on minarets seen as protest against failure to assimilate Muslim immigrants

In a provocative essay on the Swiss vote to ban the construction of minarets, David Goldman of First Things argues that the people of Switzerland—and Europe generally—are reacting not only against radical Islam, but against the supposition that even moderate Muslims cannot and should not be integrated into traditional European society. “Whether Muslim immigrants to Europe are assimilable is unclear, since Europe’s institutions have made no effort to assimilate them,” he writes.

Where are the feminists? Where are the defenders of women’s rights? Mostly they are criticizing Christianity and the Catholic Church. Maybe they ought to redirect their attentions.

Wake up America! Wake up Catholic Church!

Janet and I are in Amsterdam making a connection to Tel Aviv. We will have a few days to meet with friends, deliver gifts to local Christians and get organized for our two back-to-back groups.

While here I am catching up on e-mail and my website and found this stunning and disturbing news item. Jesus said we need to take up our cross and follow him. Amazingingly there are Christians today literally being crucified for their belief in Jesus. Muslims are doing this. This is what happens when Sharia Law is in place.

Ugandan rebels target Christians of southern Sudan for crucifixion

The Lord’s Resistance Army, which has been charged with multiple human-rights abuses during a long civil war in Uganda, has now begun preying upon Christian villagers in neighboring southern Sudan. Witnesses report that at least 7 people were killed in recent raids, with most of the deaths caused by forms of crucifixion.

Pakistani Christian, facing blasphemy charge, killed in prison

A Pakistani Christian man who was arrested on blasphemy charges was found dead in prison on September 15, apparently having been tortured. His death was denounced by a human-rights group as an example of “judicial murder.” After the young man was arrested and charged with desecrating the Qu’ran, Muslim activists in his Punjab village attacked Christian homes and set fire to a local church.

Dearborn Michigan, USA — Twenty miles from my house: A young Arab Christian visits the Arab Cultural Fair and tries to ask a question at a Muslim booth. Dearborn has the highest concentration of Arabs and Muslims in the United States, though many of the Arabs are not Muslims.

The video below gives some indication what Islam is really like and how things are if Islamic Sharia Law (here and here and here) is ever allowed. Sharia Law is one of the three most prominent forms of law in the world today.

When Sharia Law is in full force in Islamic countries, non-Muslims have three choices: 1) convert, 2) become 2nd class citizens and pay a crippling tax, or 3) be executed. Of course the politically-correct media won’t tell you this.

While the West is collapsing under moral apathy and politically-correct complancency, the world of Islam is rising! Christians in Muslim countries around the world know this all too well — as America sleeps.

Progress in Catholic-Muslim relations stalled on religious freedom, says Vatican official

The president of the Pontifical Council for Inter-Religious Dialogue has reported significant progress in dialogue between the Church and the Islamic world, but sees major roadblocks remaining. Speaking at a conference in Venice, Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran cited two major impediments. First, he said: “Even the most open-minded Muslim leaders are unable to get their fellow Muslims to accept that people have a right to change religion in accordance with their conscience.” Second, the political leadership of Saudi Arabia in particular refuses to budge on allowing freedom of worship for other faiths– leaving 2 million Catholic residents without legal access to the sacraments.

Copts (Christians) attacked by Muslims in violent conflict in Egyptian village

At least 18 people required hospital treatment for injuries suffered in violent confrontations between Muslims and Coptic Christians in an Egyptian village, the French newspaper La Croix reports. The bloodshed occurred on June 21 when militant Muslims attacked a Coptic congregation at worship in the home of a priest in a remote village of southern Egypt– a region where such confrontations have taken place repeatedly in the past few years.

In three days a new movie will be released (June 26) entitled The Stoning of Soraya M starring Jim Caveziel (Jesus in the Passion of the Christ) and produced by Steve McEveety (producer of Braveheart, Bella, Passion of the Christ).

This looks like it will be a good movie and one Christians should support enthusiastically. It is an expose of Islam and the freedom of religion.
