We met him three years ago and liked him from the start. He worked in the Aurelia Residence where we stay in Rome. He was a typical Filipino — friendly, courteous, and Catholic. After 20 days, 30 talks and 14 flights and sweating in the heat and humidity (usually about 89 degrees with 90% humidity) we are back home from Guam and the Philippines and settling in to “normal American life” again. Everywhere we go in the Philippines the young people really sing. They are beautiful and sing like angels. I just spoke at small parish church on the island of Boracay. There were about 150 people, most of them young. What fun I had sharing with them. Then the lights went out — a brown out! [...]
